The Past

Mike and Jessica moved to Penafiel in 1984 with their two small children Katie and Andrew. At that time there was no evangelical church in the city. The church started with Jessica running a club for the neighbours' children and then a group of adults meeting in their kitchen. A faithful nucleus was formed who persevered at times through persecution and opposition. It was a real thrill to see what we believe to be the first ever New Testament baptisms in the city.
